Who operates this site
Current (ev.symelo.com) is operated by Symelo LTD, Bulgaria, the controller of personal data collected through this website. Contact us at [email protected] or through the contact form about this notice or your data.
Reading the research
No account is needed to read articles. The website does not use optional analytics, advertising trackers or externally hosted fonts. Our hosting and security infrastructure may process technical information such as IP addresses, request times, browser information and security events to deliver and protect the site. We do not publish these logs.
Cloudflare supplies an approximate country code with requests. We use this to select US units for US visitors and metric units elsewhere; we do not request your device location. Your manual unit choice is saved in your browser as current-units and overrides that default. The application does not store a country history for this preference.

Contact messages
The contact form collects your email address, an optional name, a topic and your message. Messages are stored privately in our PostgreSQL database and are available only to authorized administrators. The form does not subscribe you to a newsletter or publish your message. Its rate limit uses recent message counts and email addresses; the application does not store an IP address with your message. Please avoid sending passwords or unnecessary sensitive personal information.
We use this information to investigate corrections, answer enquiries and handle privacy requests. We rely on our legitimate interests in running the site and responding to correspondence, or on legal obligations when handling requests required by law. You can also email us directly; that correspondence is handled through our business email service.
Accounts and public comments
When sign-in is enabled, Clerk provides account authentication and processes the information needed for your chosen sign-in method, along with session and security data. The application stores your Clerk user ID, a display name, comment text, moderation status and submission date. Your email address is not stored in our comments table. Approved comments show your display name, text and date publicly; pending comments are private to moderators.
We process account and comment information to provide the discussion feature you request and to prevent abuse. Clerk explains its processing in its privacy policy. Sign-in remains unavailable until the site's Clerk configuration is enabled.
Replies retain their connection to the parent comment. Likes and dislikes are associated with your account to limit each account to one vote per comment; public readers see aggregate counts. Evidence reports store your account ID, the reported article or comment, your justification, supporting links and review status. Reports and reporter identities are private to authorized moderators and do not automatically change a verdict. We use these records to investigate the report and protect the discussion from abuse.
Who can receive data
Authorized Symelo LTD staff and service providers supporting hosting, database operations, email and authentication may process information needed for those functions. Public comments are visible to anyone. We do not sell personal data. External source and charging-map links take you to independent websites with their own privacy practices.
Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, applicable transfer safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, are required. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your request.
How long we keep information
Contact messages are kept while an enquiry and reasonable follow-up are being handled, and longer where necessary to address disputes or legal obligations. Published comments remain available as part of the discussion until removed; moderation records may be kept to address abuse or disputes. Retention depends on the purpose and any applicable legal requirement. You may ask us to delete information that is no longer needed.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it. Send requests to [email protected]. We may need enough information to verify your identity before disclosing or changing personal data.
You can also complain to Bulgaria's Commission for Personal Data Protection or another competent supervisory authority. Follow the authority's instructions for the required language, identity information and signature. See our cookie notice for browser-storage information.
