We use browser storage only for essential site functions. There are no optional analytics or advertising cookies on Current, and no consent banner blocks access to the research.

What may be stored

• Your measurement units: choosing Metric or US saves current-units in local storage until you clear site data. This requested preference is not sent to our server. Without a saved choice, Cloudflare’s country header selects US units for US visitors and metric elsewhere; an unavailable country defaults to metric. We do not request your device location for this feature.
• Your cookie choice: selecting “Use essential only” writes current-cookie-choice to local storage, including the preference version and save time. It stays in that browser until you clear site data. It is not sent to our server.
• Authentication: when Clerk sign-in is enabled, its cookies and related storage keep your session and support authentication security. The cookies used and their duration depend on session configuration and sign-in state. Clerk documents its cookie behavior.
• Infrastructure security: the hosting or security layer may set cookies when required to protect the service. These are separate from advertising or audience measurement.

Your controls

You can review the current settings below, clear site data, or block cookies in your browser. Articles remain public; blocking essential authentication storage can prevent sign-in and comment posting. Opening an external source or charger map subjects that visit to the destination's cookie policy.
